Whether we like it or not, the coronavirus is here and we have to make changes. For those of us that had a regular yoga practice at the studio, one of the first questions when businesses had to shut down was, “How am I going to continue to take care of my health without my yoga classes, teachers and community?” And the answer is…They are are still here.
Practicing at home can take some getting used to, and while it’s not the same there are some major perks that we find with an online home yoga practice.
So…Why Take LIVE Classes? Couldn’t we just record all the classes and put them out there for you?
Yes, but there are some big differences:
1. Accountability – You sign up, and we look for you. If you are not there, we will contact you to see if you need any help getting online. In addition, the teacher watches you in class with individual suggestions and encouragement. We can see it when you make progress and are there for you before and after class just like at the studio.
2. Community – Sure, you can do a recorded class from youtube, and there are some great ones out there. But being in class with your yogi-pals, seeing their faces, hearing their names in class, and being able to chat or wave before and after class…..well, it’s just so….cool. There is a reason that we all come to a studio, and part of that is to connect as we grow.
3. Presence – When we hear the words of our teacher, and they can see what we are doing, it calls us back to the present moment. We remember why we came to the practice in the first place, As we listen, we are connected. From our teacher, to our mind to our body. We are one…again.
If you haven’t gotten started with our online program, ask yourself why. If if is technology, we can help. If you don’t think that you will get the same result, you will never know until you try. And if you aren’t motivated at home, well…it’s just time to do something about that.
Let us bring you program with accountability, community and presence. Because it works.
